Brown Diamonds Gain Popularity

Diamonds have been treasured since they were discovered and they are still as coveted as ever. It appears there is no indication these brilliant gems will ever lose their valuable status. As the popularity of distinct types and styles of jewelry comes and goes diamonds will forever be loved.

One type of diamond that has become particularly hot recently is the colored diamond, particularly the browns and yellows. In simple terms a colored diamond is a real diamond that has color. Colored diamonds have the same attributes, are from the same elements and have the same brilliance but rather than being white or colorless these gems have a color, ranging from light to intense. Some colored diamonds are created this way by nature in the earth’s surface, some are entirely cultured, and some are real diamonds that have their color enhanced in a lab. The natural colored diamonds are the most valuable, but each of these colored stones have grown quite fashionable.

Colors including blues and pinks have always been more valued, but of late the yellows and browns have won a lot of attention. Colors like brown and yellow were once considered low color and not suitable for jewelry, rather they were often used for industrial needs. But these natural colored gems have come a long way and as we are seeing celebrities wearing them on the red carpet they are holding their somewhat recently achieved status. If you’ve discovered a cognac diamond you will understand why.

These light and dark brown diamonds go well with different hair and skin colors making them perfect for anyone to wear with sophistication. They also go with either white gold or gold, and with the trend to natural styles and colors these sparkling beauties are perfect. If they will continue to be as hot as they are today is still to be determined, but having that diamond status will likely help them last. As the saying goes “a diamond is forever” whether white or colored.
