High Heel Sandals Can Cause Lower Back Pain
Being footwear specialist that has worn heels for the majority of her existence, the thought of switching to flat sandals can seem about as secure as climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in this season’s six-inch stilettos. Although there are several genuinely attractive flats about this season – among them the scruffy gladiator shoe – the reality is that for lots of women wearing flat sandals for even just few short minutes is enough to dispatch sharp pains shooting up their legs. Though it is appealing to see this as reason enough to turn clear of bad sandals and flip flops, in truth this searing pain is your top cause to get those feet in a pair of flats quick smart.
The problem with high heels is that they warp your lower back into an abnormal contour by thrusting your pelvis forward and crippling your lower back. As you stroll in this weird posture your boobs and bottom are strained to stick out at all sorts of angles that can feel all very sexy until you begin to suffer the long-term consequences of these orthopaedic bad dreams, that can include constant lower back pain and intervertebral disc damage. Even if you can get used to walking in heels – so much so that anything else feels atypical – the fact is that if you find it complex to walk not including being twisted this way, then odds are you’re at risk of serious damage down the road.
Just take a look at your beloved Ecco footwear, ballet flats or even your sneakers and you’ll detect that the form of the shoe’s toe section comes to a point. And then take a look at your feet. Spot the difference? When given abundant space our toes easily assemble in an arc formation so that our feet are much wider at the toes than at the back. Regardless of this, most fashion high heels get narrower at the front and crunch them together, which can advance to bent big toes and aching (not to mention ugly) bunions. The force on those feeble tiny toes is made all the worse when they are jammed into high heels that transfer the weight of the body from the sturdy heel bone to the weak bones at the front of the feet. Now you know there is a worthy reason to stick to flat sandals any time you can.
